    Abstract

    Fatayah Nahdlatul Ummah, Budi Utomo, Sudarto, 2018. Performance Evaluation and Processing Development of Mojosongo Wastewater Treatment Plant. Thesis. Civil Engineering Program. Faculty of Engineering. Sebelas Maret University. Surakarta. Mojosongo wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is one of the domestic wastewater treatment units in Surakarta, where is located in Mojosongo village. Mojosongo WWTP serves the northern area of Surakarta that includes the Mojosongo, Nusukan, and Kadipiro areas. Wastewater treatment is done by the regional water company of Surakarta with processing development capacity is 50 L/s since 2011 and has served 5,425 home connections from active customers by 2015. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the performance of existing and to predict the quantitative performance, especially input discharge at Mojosongo WWTP based on the projected of population growth and the number of wastewater customers in the service area in the next 20 years. Alternative development of wastewater treatment is also given as one of long-term solution in domestic wastewater management concept in Surakarta. The result of research analysis shows that the performance of Mojosongo WWTP in quantitative terms based on the waste water discharge flowing from 5,425 home connections is 31 L/s, while in qualitative terms based on the value of processing efficiency of the wastewater quality test is 71,31% BOD5 efficiency and 60,83% COD efficiency. Mojosongo WWTP in quantitative performance prediction, which is input debit, over the next 20 years based on the population is 149 L/s and based on the number of customers is 50 L/s. Alternative development of wastewater treatment as a long-term solution focused on the main processing of WWTP, which is aeration unit, by changing the residence time, parallel processing system change, and increasing the number of aerator usage.
