    Abstract

    Tomato is a vegetable that was consumed by people, but its production is decreased, it caused by poor fertilization. Nutrient reconstitution was done with the addition of micronutrients of Fe. Fe plays a role in a process formation of chlorophyll. This research was conducted with the aim to know the effect of micronutrient application of Fe toward leaf to growth and yield of tomato. The research method used experimental unit with Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) factorial with 2 factors and 5 replication. The first factor was fertilizer (FeSO4 and FeCl3). The second factor was concentration (0, 20, 40, 60, 80) ppm. The observed variables included plant height, number of leaves plant, number of stomata, leaf chlorophyll content, transpiration rate, days to flowering, dry weight of plant, fruit set percentage and weight of fruit per plant. The results showed by Fe have no significant effect on growth and yield component of tomato, except at the concentration of 20 ppm, Fe can be increase of transpiration rate. Fe can be applied for plant in the form of FeCl3 and FeSO4 and Fe concentration until 80 ppm cannot be able to improve the quality and quantity of tomatoes. Tomatoes are physiologically damaged in the form of blossom end rot in the fruit.
