    Abstract

    Roy Sugeng Riyadhi. The Effectiveness of Discussion Technique To Improve Interpersonal Communication Skill (On Student of Class XI IPA2 High School of Kerjo Country of Karanganyar Regency Academic Year 2016/2017). Skripsi, Surakarta: Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, July 2017. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant increase in interpersonal communication skills with the guidance of group discussion techniques on students class XI IPA2 High School of Kerjo Karanganyar District Academic Year 2016/2017. This study included experimental research with the pattern of "Treatments By Subjects Design" or abbreviated T-S pattern. In Treatments By Subjects Design, several types or variations of treatment are given successively to the same group of subjects by providing a treatment or treament to the sample in the form of group guidance with discussion techniques and to the subject without using guidance with discussion techniques. T-tests are used to determine the effectiveness of group guidance with discussion techniques on improving interpersonal communication skills. The result of t-test analysis showed that Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) = 0,000 with significance level (α) 5% and tct = 4,229. Based on the data can be concluded Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) 0,000 < 0,05 and tcount 4,229 > ttable 2.021 then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. So hypothesis which states group guidance with effective discussion techniques for the improvement of interpersonal communication skills in students class XI IPA2 High School of Kerjo Karanganyar District Academic Year 2016/2017 can be proved true.
