    Abstract

    The objective of research was to find out: 1) the relationship of perception on teacher’s teaching style to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017, 2) the relationship of learning interest to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017, and 3) the relationship of teacher’s teaching style and learning interest to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017. This study was a descriptive quantitative research with statistical analysis. The population of research was the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali. The sample taken consisted of 166 students. Technique of taken sample used simple random sampling. The data was collected through questionnaire and documentation. The questionnaire had been trialed, and tested for its validity and reliability first. Technique of analyzing data used was multiple linear regression analysis with F-test, t-test, R2-test, coefficient of determinacy, and relative and effective contributions. The conclusion of this study are: 1) There was a positive relationship between perception on teachers’ teaching style to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017. It was based on the results multiple linear regression analysis (t-test) finding that tstatistic > ttable (2.278 > 1.960) with significance level of 0.007 (<0.05) with relative contribution of 29% and effective contribution of 10.6%). 2) There was a positive relationship between learning interest to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017. It was based on the results multiple linear regression analysis (t-test) finding that tstatistic > ttable (5.590 > 1.960) with significance level of 0.000 (<0.05) with relative contribution of 71% and effective contribution of 26%. 3) There was a positive relationship between perception on teachers’ teaching style and learning interest simultaneously to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017. It was based on the results multiple linear regression variance analysis (F-test) finding that Fstatistic > Ftable (47.077 > 3.000) with significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). 4) Coefficient of determinacy (R2) of 0.366 indicated that the size of relationship of perception on teachers’ teaching style and learning interest simultaneously to historical awareness of the 11th graders of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in the school year of 2016-2017, was 36.6%, while the rest was affected by other variable.
