    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Feria Tia Agustina, 2007. EXTRACTION OF Fe(II)-phen USING CLOUD POINT’S METHOD WHIT SURFACTANT TWEEN 80. Jurusan Kimia. Fakultas MIPA. Universitas Sebelas Maret. Research the extraction of Fe(II)-phen using cloud point’s method with surfactant Tween 80. The research determined optimum conditions the extraction of Fe(II)-phen were concentration Tween 80, pH of metal, temperature, time’s extraction and also to determined efficiency extraction of Fe(II)-phen in single species and to compete’s spesies. Extraction was done variation concentration Tween 80 were 80 6x10-5 M, 9x10-5 M, 12x10-5 M, 15x10-5 M and 18x10-5 M, variation pH were 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, variation temperature were 55 o C, 60 o C, 65 o C, 70 o C and 75 o C and variation time’s extraction were 30 minute, 45 minute, 60 minute, 75 minute and 90 minute. Metals used to determined selectivyti of phen were Cu(II) and Pb(II). The analysis metal in rich surfactant phase was determined by Atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometer (AAS). The results of extraction optimum condition is reached at concentration Tween 80 12x10-5 M, pH 2, temperature 65 o C and time’s extraction 60 minute. The efficiency ectraction of Fe(II) in single species under optimum conditions was 39,36 %, Cu(II) was 28,65%, Pb(II) was 35,54% and in compete’s species gives efficiency of Fe(II) was 11,30 %, Cu(II) was 27,39 %, Pb(II) was 0%. The result showed that phen is not selective to separated Fe(II) from the unwanted metals.
