    Abstract

    Muhammad Muttaqin, 2017. Capacity of Laminated Veneer Lumber Blocks (LVL) of Sengon Wood. Thesis. Civil Engineering Study Program Faculty of Engineering, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. Wood is a structural material that is in great demand in development because its availability in nature is abundant. But lately the existence of wood increasingly scarce and the price soared. This encourages development actors to innovate using engineering wood products. One alternative to the problem is by using Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) sengon wood because sengon wood has a short cut enough time so that its availability is guaranteed. LVL wood is also able to overcome the diminution of wood with a large dimension. This is the underlying purpose of this research. In this study, the beam-column connection was tested by the experimental method whose shape was determined, ie square and beam-shaped columns III with the bolt connecting tool which is expected to be the rigid connection. The test is done by gradually increasing the load at the end of the connection to determine the deflection that occurs at the end of the beam From the test results obtained the connection capacity beam LVL column sengon wood is 18,9; 19.9; and 17.9 N / mm2. The comparison of test and analysis values is quite distant because the expected connection to a rigid connection is not successful. This comparison difference is caused by the inaccurate bolt hole making, so it is necessary to make a better sample in order to get the rigid connection as expected.
