    Abstract

    THE CORRELATION OF LAND CONVERSION AND CLIMATE CHANGES TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY IN JUMANTONO. Thesis-S1: Ayu Prilyscia (H0712036). Advisers: Sutarno, Rahayu. Study Program: Agrotechnology, Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta. Land use conversion is a phenomenon of land use changes. The changes in land use and climate will affect agricultural productivity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the changes that occurred in Jumantono District and whether there is effect over the land use conversion and the climate changes agricultural productivity. This research was conducted in the Jumantono District, Karanganyar Regency. Implementation of the study was in Maret to December 2016. This research uses descriptive quantitative research with methods of data analysis is a correlation analysis to determine the correlation between landuse from BPS data of Karanganyar Regency and Google Earth image on climate change and land productivity in Jumantono District. Secondary data collection conducted at Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) of Karanganyar Regency and Climatology Laboratory Faculty of Agriculture, Sebelas Maret University. The results showed that there was a change of land use area according to BPS in 2006-2007. In that period the area of rice field decreased by 1,2 Ha, the area of the moor decreased 9,0 Ha and the area of settlement increased by 10,2 Ha. The area of pasture and other land area has remained since 2002-2014. According to Google Earth Image analysis in 2004-2011, the settlement increased by 7,84 Ha, the moorfield decreased by 4,52 Ha, the ricefield decreased by 3,66 Ha, and the others land increased by 0,34 Ha. On the other hand, in 2011-2014, the area of settlement increased by 4,50 Ha, the area of moorfield decreased by 3,80 Ha, the area of ricefield decreased by 0,98 Ha, and the area of the others land increased b 0,28 Ha. The results of statistical analysis showed that according to BPS data and Google Earth Image analysis there was a significantly correlation between land use change to agricutural productivity change. According to BPS data, changes in the use of rice field, moor, and settlements correlated significantly to cassava and sweet potato production. Changes in the use of moor according to Google Earth imagery data are significantly correlated with maize production. Meanwhile changes in the use of rice field are significantly correlated to cassava and peanut production. And changes in other land use are significantly correlated with peanut production. Then, there was a significantly correlated of climate changes and agricultural productivity changes. Which is the changes of rainfall was signicanly correlated to the production of cassava and sweet potatoes. And the changes of air temperature was significantly correlated to the production of rice and durian.
