    Abstract

"GROUP GUIDANCE WITH BUZZ GROUP DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE IN IMPROVING THE ABILITY OF EXPRESSING OPINION FOR STUDENTS IN EIGHTH GRADE OF SUKOHARJO SECONDARY STATE 2 SCHOOL ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2017/2018". Thesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Sebelas Maret Surakarta 2017. The aim of this research is to understand the effectivity of group guidance with buzz group discussion technique in improving the ability of expressing opinion for students in eighth grade of Sukoharjo Secondary State 2 School Academic Year 2017/2018. This research is an experimental research with Quasi Experimental Design. Students are as research subject whose the ability of expressing opinion is low, obtained from pretest result given to 219 participants and it is known that 34 students who have low ability of expressing opinion. Research subject is divided into two groups i.e. experimental group with 17 students and control group with 17 students. Treatment in the form of group guidance with buzz group discussion technique in improving the ability of expressing opinion was given to the experimental group, while the control group was not. Analysis with Mann Whitney technique is used to find out posttest score on experimental group which was given the treatment compared to the control group which was not given the treatment. The result of analysis obtained is Z in the amount of -4,984 with the significance result 0,000 so that 0,000 < 0,05, which means there is difference of experimental group result with control group which shows there is an increasing score on experimental group after being given the treatment. Besides, the Wilcoxon analysis technique to test the difference of pretest and posttest on experimental group, which shows Z in the amount of -3,624 with significance result 0,000 then 0,000 < 0,05 which means there is an increasing score of posttest on experimental group after being given the treatment in the form of group guidance with buzz group discussion technique. Based on the analysis result, it is concluded that group guidance with buzz group discussion techniquebis effective to increase the ability of expressing opinion for students in eight grade of Sukoharjo Secondary State 2 School Academic Year 2017/2018.
