    Abstract

    This study was aimed to test the effectiveness of modeling and role playing to reduce bullying behavior of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Surakarta academic year 2016/2017. The method which used in this study was a single case experimental design with A-B design. The subject in this study was 3 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Surakarta academic year of 2016/2017 by purposive sampling technique. The instrument in collecting data were observation of bullying behavior. The technique which used to analyze data was statistical analysis with percentages technique and clinical analysis techniques. The result of this study by statistics analysis with percentages technique showed in subject 1 the percentage change in bullying behavior at 52,38%, subject 2 and subject 3 shows changes in bullying behavior each of 57,89% and 65,22%. The result of percentage analysis was supported by the results of clinical analysis, a friend of subject as significant others in the school environment state that each of the subject had decreased in the level of bullying behavior, then the hypothesis was proven. This showed that there was a difference between data measurement in baseline phase with data post-intervention on bullying behavior The conclusions of this research was modeling and role playing technique effectively to reduce or decrease bullying behavior of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 21 Surakarta of academic year 2016/2017.
