    Abstract

    Industry sector exerts a negative effect on the environment. Industrial waste is often disposed to the rivers. Considering the result of previous studies, the industry contributes to the accumulated heavy metal in the environment. In farming sector, the accumulation of heavy metal can result in water pollution and be washed into the ground. Therefore, the farming product can be contaminated with heavy metal and it can be harmful to human health. The objective of the research was to reduce the Pb heavy metal content in paddy soil. This research was taken place in the contaminated paddy soil using Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBG) with 3 factors and 3 repetitions. This research employed the combination of inorganic fertilizer, Ramie and Agrobacterium Sp I3 or compost as a chelator to improve the Pb Uptake. The results showed that combination of the three treatments cloud increase Pb uptake. The combination of chemical fertilizers, Ramie with compost increased the uptake of Pb 11.93 μgram.gram-1 or 45.9%. The combination of chemical fertilizers, Ramie with Agrobacterium Sp I3 increased the highest Pb uptake 12.85 μgram.gram-1 or 49.8%. The combination can also decrease the soil Pb level by 7.8 μgram.gram-1 or 23.5% of the control. Keywords: Industry, Chelator, heavy metal.
