    Abstract

    Muhammad Nur Rasyid. C1012027. 2017. Variety of structures and Ornament Motifs of Henna Art in Moroccan Tradition (librariesstudy). Thesis: Arabic Literature Faculty of Culture Sciences Sebelas Maret University. This research discusses (1) The structure of henna art in Moroccan tradition; (2) The motifs and characteristics of henna art in Moroccan tradition?. The methods used in this research are qualitative and ethnographic methods. Data collection techniquesusing library research techniques, are collecting datas relating to the object of research through books, journals, internet that supports this research. Based on the results of the research,it can be summed that henna (lawsonia inermis)is the raw materials of body painting at the celebration of Moroccan traditions. The results showed the use of henna is not only for the traditionssuch as wedding celebration, Id Al-Adha, circumcission and also pre and post birth, but also used as the decorative art or body painting and often associated with literature. Henna art motifs and structures in Morocco is the tradition of hereditary. For Moroccan people, henna art tradition is believed to be able to protect themselves from the influence of evil things. Some regions in Indonesia also use henna art in their traditions, but spesifically in wedding celebration called henna night, it has diferent names on each regions. Nowadays, henna art tradition is not only as Middle East tradition, it is popular over the world. Anyone can use it without tradition frill. Keywords: Henna, Body Painting, Moroccan tradition.
