    Abstract

    Pule pandak (Rauvolfia serpentina Benth.) is one of the most important herb plant that is still few plantation in Indonesia which have more value on alcaloid rate (reserpine). It have functions for health, but it have characteristic doesn’t stand on environment intrusion. This plant doesn’t stand on hot weather and win hardly so easy to leaf absiscion prematurely. The gived of cytikinin and organic fertilizer is hoped can solved the problem of growing this plant. The aims of research is to know the effect of concentration of cytokinin and organic fertilizer to the growth and yield of serpentine (Rauvolfia serpentina (L.) Benth. ex Kurz. The research was held at Ngaglik, Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, started on August 2006 to January 2007. The research was used factorial with randomized complete blok design consist of two factor with three replication. The first factor is concentration of cytokinin consist of four level; 25 ppm (S1), 50 ppm (S2), 75 ppm (S3) and 100 ppm (S4). The second factor is organic fertilizer consist of three level; 5 ton/ha (P1), 10 ton/ha (P2) and 15 ton/ha (P3). Application of 5 ton/ha organic fertilizer increased growth (sum of leaf) and yield (branch of root and diameter of root) compared to control. Application of 100 ppm cytokinin increased growth (sum of leaf, leaf area, fresh weight of shoot, and dry weight of shoot) and yield (branch of root and dry weight of root) of serpentine. There was interaction between organic fertilizer and cytokinin to the fresh weight of shoot and fresh weight of root of serpentine on 90 days after plant. The combination of 10 to/ha organic fertilizer and 100 ppm cytokinin given the best result of fresh weight of shoot and fresh weight of root.
