As the securitization enforcer, the opposition tried to ensure the Australian people the boat people asylum seekers are threats toward Australian border. The elected government successfully packed the the boat people securitization issue and planned military security agenda which is known as Operation Sovereign Border. Although that threat can be projected as military issue, the anxiety comes from the society who can trace the history of Australian migration. They construct new identity for the refugee and asylum seeker by labeling them as ‘illegal maritime arrival’ and ‘boat people’.
