    Abstract

    Sarlin Laidat. The improvement understanding proclamation of independence of Indonesians republic through mind mapping (classroom action research in B fifth grade SD Negeri Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta 2016/2017 academic year. Skripsi, surakarta, teacher training and education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University, May 2017. The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding proclamation of independence of Indonesians republic through mind mapping in B fifth grade SD Negeri Dukuhan Kerten No. 58 Surakarta 2016/2017 academic year. This research form is Classroom Action Research (CAR) and it was conducted in two cycles. The research subject is the B fifth students of state elemantary school Dukuhan Kerten number 58 Surakarta 2016/2017 academic year consist of 34 student. The source of data came from teacher and student. The techniques of collecting data used are observation, documentation, interview, and test. The data validity used technique triangulation and source triangulation. The techniques of analyzing data are interactive analys consisting of the four components, they are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Data which gotten from before action to cycle II is improveness. At before action, average value of students is 51,37 with a percentage of classical completeness is 14,70%. On the cycle I, the average value of student rising to 76,52 with a percentage is 64,70%. On the cycle II the average value of student rising again become 82,67 with a percentage of classical completeness is 94,12%. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that mind mapping can improving the understanding proclamation of independence of Indonesians republic in B fifth grade students of state elemantary school of Dukuhan Kerten number 58 Surakarta 2016/2017 academic year.
