    Abstract

    Banana is a fruit that is favored for all society. The development of banana agribussiness started from seed availability. Tissue culture is a seed propagation technology that can produce large amounts of seed and a relatively short time by utilizing limited plant material. Planlet results of tissue culture needs to be acclimatization before planted in the field. Hydroponic substrate-based acclimatization is expected to produce seeds that are free from soil pathogens. Adjustment of the concentration of nutrients is important to note in order to produce a growth response that significantly affects and does not cause poisoning or plasmolysis. This study aims to determine whether there is interaction between substrate types and concentration of nutrients to increase the growth of Raja Bulu Kuning Banana plantlet. The experiment were carried out at Net House, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta in October 2016 - January 2017. The treatment factors were substrate type (bagasse, arenga peat, steamed husk) and concentration of nutrient solution (equivalent EC 1.8, equivalent EC 2.0 ; Equivalent EC 2.5). The results showed that There was interactions of substrate type with concentration of nutrient solution on number of root and root lenght variables, but there were no interaction on many variables such as height, number of leaf, and fresh weight. The steamed husk gave the best result of plantlet growth compared to the bagasse and the arenga peat substrates shown in the increase of root number, the increase of root length, the increase of plantlet height, fresh weight gain, and leaf color score variables.
