    Abstract

    DESIGN OF THE SHAFT ON SANDPAPER MACHINE By: Fajar Dwi Wibowo ABSTRACT The design of the sandpaper machine aims to complement the hardness testing equipment and the microstructure photographs at the laboratory of Mechanical Engineering materials of Sebelas Maret University. Until now the workpiece surface work is still manually by rubbing the specimen onto the sandpaper placed on the table, so it takes time to finish the hardness testing and photo microstructure on laboratory material. Methods of manufacture of machinery starting from designing, manufacturing components, assembly, testing machine and analysis of test results. Shaft is one important component in sandpaper machine. The component serves to carry on the power along with the rounds of the belt and the pulleys. The dimensions of the shaft used on the abrasive machine have an outer diameter of 38mm in length of 220mm, diameter at 19 mm in length with a length of 80mm and diameter at an abrasive disk connection with a diameter of 25mm in length of 80mm, resulting in 380mm total shaft length. The material used for the shaft is ST 60.
