    Abstract

    The objective of research is to give empirical evidence about macroeconomic variables, including: deposit interest rate, inflation rate, foreign currency exchange and microeconomic variables, including: Return on Equity (ROE), Earning Per Share (EPS), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) affect either partially or simultaneously the stock price and Earning per Share (EPS) affects most dominantly the stock price in LQ­45 index. The research method employed in analyzing the effect of such variables above was a multiple­ regression model with OLS (Ordinary Least Square) method that fulfils the BLUE (Best Linear Unbiased Estimator) criteria. The population of research in this study was all go public companies that belong to the LQ­45 group in Indonesian Stock Exchange during 2003­2007 periods with 97 emitant. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling method. The data was obtained from the reference relevant to the research, internet, and financial statement of company concerned that is publicized and process consistent with the requirement of research, as well as ICMD (Indonesian Capital Market Directory) in BEI corner of Sebelas Maret University. The result of research indicates that deposit interest rate, inflation rate, foreign currency exchange, Return on Equity (ROE), Earning Per Share (EPS) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) partially affect significantly the stock price. Meanwhile, deposit interest rate, inflation rate, foreign currency exchange, and Earning Per Share (EPS) variables simultaneously affects the stock price. Return On Equity (ROE) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) variables are proved not affecting significantly the stock price. Meanwhile the result of research shows that the inflation rate is the variable with the most dominant effect on the stock price.
