Abstract
Vehicle which moves at particular velocity will have an aerodynamic drag that stimulated by the shape and air flow factors on its surface. It is stimulated by the pressure drop and flow separation which develop at the tail side. Automotive design development is a way to minimize the aerodynamic drag that would optimize engine power performance. The research objective was to analyze the aerodynamic drag from any different angle on the tail side of model. The MOLINA UNS automobile was exploited in this study with tail side angle variations of 52o, 54o, 54, 47o, 56o, 58o, and 60o. The computational approach was generated by using CFX 14.5 CFD software. It was set 22.2 m/s for the upstream velocity. The result showed that the smallest value of aerodynamic drag coefficient was 0.5141 which occurred at 60o of tail side angle.
