    Abstract

    ABSTRACT In Indonesia, 120 large dams and other hundreds water building had been constructed since 1990. More than 90% of them are rock fill dam. By its construction material, there are two types of dam: concrete and rock fill dams. Dam maintenance is very desirable to ensure its security. The collapse of Situ Gintung (Gintung Lake) was due to the damaged dam condition. The dam damage is the failure of dam maintenance. It indicates the importance of dam condition assessment over times. This research was taken place in Sermo Dam located in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province. The objective of research was to find out the value tendency of Sermo Dam from 2013 to 2017 and the compatibility of Sermo Dam Maintenance Guidelines in 2010. The method applied in this study was a descriptive qualitative one using primary and secondary data. Primary data and physical condition of Sermo Dam in 2017 was obtained from field survey. Secondary data consisted of Technical data of Sermo Dam, Data of Sermo Dam Monitoring from 2013 to 2016, Data of Sermo Dam Extensive Inspection in 2015, and Technical Audit Data of Sermo Dam in 2013. The assessment of Sermo Dam Condition from 2013 to 2017 was conducted based on Physical Condition Assessment Guidelines of Reservoir and Its Dam contained in Government Regulation No.37 of 2010. The compatibility of Sermo Dam operation implementation and maintenance can be viewed from Operation and Maintenance Guidelines in 2010. The result of research showed that Sermo Dam Condition from 2013 to 2016 had been consistent with Guidelines of Dam Maintenance of 2010. The result of research showed that there was a synergy between the assessment of Sermo dam condition and the operational and maintenance implementation in 2013 to 2017.
