    Black rice is a useful food source because it contains anthocyanin compounds that act as antioxidants, and can counteract free radicals. The need for safe and healthy black rice is increase, but the production is still relatively small. This study aims to improve the chlorophyll and anthocyanin content, and the yield of black rice organically using azolla and biochar. The experiments were conducted in a greenhouse using a complete randomized design (CRD), with two factors, i.e., (1) Azolla (without Azolla, 10 ton ha-1 Azolla biomass, and 6 tons of Azolla compost) and (2) Biochar (without biochar, and 10 tons ha-1 of biochar). Chlorophyll level was analyzed using spectrophotometry method with Aceton 80% as the chlorophyll solvent. The analysis on total anthocyanin content (ppm) in black rice was conducted using pH differential spectrophotometry. Data analysis using F test of 5% level and Duncan Multiple Range Test 5%. The application of azolla and biochar increase leaf chlorophyll content but decrease anthocyanin content of black rice, the control showed highest result is 55,23 ppm. The combination of 10 ton ha-1 biomass of Azolla and 10 tons ha-1 biochar showed the highest total number of tillers (41.3 tillers per hill), and weight of grain yield (7.1 ton ha-1). Application of 10 tons ha-1 biomass Azolla gave the highest number of productive tillers (20 tillers per hill).
