    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Praditya Danies Kurniawan. K7113173. Peningkatan Pemahaman Konsep Sifat-sifat Cahaya Melalui Model Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation (GI) Berbasis Eksperimen (Penelitian Tindakan pada Siswa Kelas V SD Gunungkidul Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017). Skripsi, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini berbentuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdapat dua pertemuan terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 22 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan tes, observasi dan wawancara. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi data dan sumber. Analisis data dilakukan melalui analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa pada kondisi awal adalah 58,64 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 13,64%. Pada siklus I, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 71,95 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 45,45%. Selanjutnya pada siklusII, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat lagi menjadi 77,36 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 86,36%. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan model kooperatif tipe Group Investigation(GI) berbasis eksperimen dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya pada siswa kelas V SD Gunungkidul Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Oleh karena itu, model kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) berbasis eksperimen dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan guru untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sifat-sifat cahaya pada siswa sekolah dasar. The objective of this study is to improve understanding of understanding to topic of light characteristics concepts at fifth grade of Elementary School. This Research was a Classroom Action Research which was held in two cycles. There were four stage in each cycle, which was planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were the students of fifth grade that consisted of 22 students. The data collection techniques were in test, observation and interview. The validity of data and source of data used triangulation. Data analysis was done through qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Based on the results of the research, it was known that the mean scores of the students in the primarly conditions was 58.64 with the percentage of classical completeness of 13.64%. In cycle I, the mean scores of the students increased to 71.95 with a percentage of classical completeness of 45.45%. On the cycle II, the mean score of students increased to 77.36 with the percentage of classical completeness of 86.36%. The conclusion of this research is the application of experimental model of experimental Group Investigation (GI) type could improve the understanding to the topic of light characteristics concepts on students at fifth grade of Elementary School Gunungkidul in the academic year of 2016/2017. Therefore, the experimental model of experimental Group Investigation (GI) type can be used as an alternative learning model that teachers can apply to improve understanding to the topic of light characteristicsconcept in elementary school students.
