    Abstract

    The purpose of this research was improving speaking skills through research implementation of role playing model approach using audio visual media. This research was classroom action research which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps. They were planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were teacher and students at grade II of Primary school Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Surakarta consists of 21 students. The data collecting technique were interviews, observation, testing, and documentation. The data validity technique weresource triangulation and technique triangulation. The data analysis technique was interactive analysis model which consisted of four components, namely: data collection, datareduction, datadisplay and verification. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of role playing model approach using audio visual media can improve the speaking skill of the second grade students of Primary school AL-AzharSyifa Budi Surakarta in academic year of 2016/2017.
