This internship report was written based on the internship program at Arpusda Surakarta, starting from 1 February to 31 March 2017. The objective of this internship report is to explain the activities and problems faced during the internship program at Arpusda Surakarta. The internship activities at Arpusda Surakarta were translating children story books from Indonesian into English and vice versa. There are three steps of translation process that the writer used in translating children story books, namely analysis, transferring, and restructuring. During translating children story books, there were three problems that the writer met. The problems were translating Indonesian phrases, determining the tenses, and translating unfamiliar phrases. The writer also gives the solutions to cope the problems. The solutions that the writer did were searching the editors outside Arpusda, looking for the translation of Indonesian phrases and unfamiliar phrases in dictionaries and internet, and asking for the editors to check and revise the translation results.
