      Abstract

Pembimbing: Prof. Drs. Sutarno, M.Sc., Ph.D., Kopembimbing: Dr. Baskoro Adi Prayitno, M.Pd. Program Studi Magister Pendidikan Sains, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Sebelas Maret. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengembangkan modul biologi berbasis problem solving untuk meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa Kelas X MIPA pada materi pencemaran lingkungan, 2) mengetahui kelayakan modul biologi berbasis problem solving untuk meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa Kelas X MIPA pada materi pencemaran lingkungan, 3) mengetahui keefektifan modul biologi berbasis problem solving untuk meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa Kelas X MIPA pada materi pencemaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research And Development (R & D) mengacu pada model Borg ang Gall yang telah dimodifikasi menjadi 9 tahap yaitu: 1) penelitian dan pengumpulan data, 2) perencanaan, 3) pengembangan draf produk, 4) uji coba lapangan awal, 5) merevisi hasil uji coba, 6) uji coba lapangan, 7) penyempurnaan produk hasil uji lapangan, 8) uji pelaksanaan lapangan, 9) penyempurnaan produk akhir. Analisis data yang digunakan selama pengembangan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis kelayakan modul berdasarkan skor kriteria, dan analisis tes kemampuan analisis siswa melalui uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) pengembangan modul biologi pada materi pencemaran lingkungan berdasarkan sintaks model pembelajaran Problem solving yang dikembangkan sesuai prosedur pengembangan Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi menjadi sembilan tahapan, 2) kelayakan modul berbasis Problem solving pada materi pencemaran lingkungan diuji melalui uji validasi ahli, uji pengguna lapangan yaitu guru sebagai praktisis pendidikan dan siswa sesuai dengan tujuan yang dikembangkan, 3) modul berbasis Problem solving pada materi pencemaran lingkungan efektif meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa. Hasil uji Wilcoxon terdapat perbedaan antara nilai sebelum diberikan modul berbasis Problem solving dan sesudah diberikan modul dengan nilai probabilitas (p) sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05. ABSTRACT The aims of this research was: 1) to develop a problem solving-based learning of biology module to improve analytical thinking ability of tenth grade students on environmental pollution subject, 2) to examine the feasibility of the problem solving-based learning of biology module to improve analytical thinking ability of tenth grade students on environmental pollution subject, and 3) to measure the effectiveness of the analytical thinking ability through the problem solving-based learning of biology module to improve analytical thinking ability of tenth grade students on environmental pollution subject. This research used research and development (R&D) model with the procedure claimed by Borg & Gall, which was modified into nine phases, namely: 1) research and information gathering, 2) planning, 3) development of initial design of product, 4) initial field experiment, 5) first product revision, 6) limited field experiment, 7) second product revision, 8) operational field experiment, and 9) final product revision. The data of the research were analyzed by using descriptive analysis, module feasibility analysis based on scoring criteria, and analytical thinking analysis using Wilcoxon test. The results of the research are as follow: 1) development of biological module on environmental pollution material based on syntak of problem solving learning model, developed according to Borg and Gall procedure which modified into nine phase. 2) the feasibility of the problem solving-based learning module on environmental pollution subject, which analyzed by expert validation test and field user test (teacher and student), is in accordance with the development aims, 3) the problem solving-based learning module on environmental pollution subject can improve analytical thinking ability student. The result of Wilcoxon test is there is a difference between pre-module implementation score and post-module implementation score, with probability value (p) is 0,000 smaller than 0,05. Based on Wilcoxon test, it can concluded that problem solving-based module on environmental pollution subject is effective to improve analytical thinking ability.
