      Abstract

      ABSTRACT This research aims to know university student background to do political participation in BEM FKIP President election and strategy application political education in university to increase student political participation in BEM FKIP President election. This research held in Teacher Training and Education Faculty (FKIP) UNS Kentingan. This research use qualitative with fenomenology approach. The method of data collection done by interview and document. The method of taking respondent with purposive sampling. The technique validity are method triangulation and resource triangulation. The conclusion of this study are: (1) student background to do political participation in President BEM FKIP UNS election can be explain consist of two background, between: (a) there is a request from friend to vote (participace followup), this is based on The Genuine Because Motive dan In Order to Motive theory from Alfred Schutz categorized to “because” motive. (b) there is a will to “sue” to President BEM FKIP UNS candidate who elected. Based on Schutz theory, this background categorized to “In Order to” motive. (2) KPU strategy to increase political participation student in President BEM FKIP UNS election by politic education, focused on dialogue campaign program. According to Schutz, KPU efort tends to “In Order to” Motive.
