    Abstract

    Eggplant is one of the vegetable commodities although the eggplant economic result isn’t too high, but has a relatively stable economic value. Hydroponics technology is currently developing because in addition to can be cultivated in a narrow land, vegetables grown hydroponically are in demand by the community. Bagasse contain organic materials that can be utilized by plants if used as a growing media. The aim of this research is to know bagasse can be used as a growing media in hydroponic to increase the result of eggplant. This research was conduct in August 2016 to February 2017 at the screen house of Faculty of Agriculture Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The study using a completely randomized design (CRD) consist of two factor that is media which are has three levels and nutrient which are has two levels every levels is repeated two times so that there are 18 experimental unit. Media consist of bagasse, bagasse sand, and bagasse zeolite. Nutrient consist of standart nutrient, and modified nutrient Nitrogen and Potassium reduction. Bagasse can be used as a media for hydroponics system. Bagasse can fulfill the needs of N and K for eggplant. The use of sand and zeolite does not improve the quality of the bagasse.
