    Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF THINK PAIR AND SHARE TO INCREASE LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT IN TERMS OF LEARNING VISUAL STYLES IN ENGINEERING DRAWING IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING A, 10TH GRADE AT VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL OF BHINNEKA KARYA SURAKARTA IN THE ACADEMY YEAR 2016/2017. Mini Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher and Training Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, May 2017. The research is intended to improve succesfully achievement in terms of learning visual styles in Mechanical Engineering A, 10th grade at vocational high school of Bhinneka Karya Surakarta in Engineering Drawing using Think Pair and Share learning model. The research is Classroom Action Research that conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, there are: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of research are 39 students in Mechanical Engineering A, 10th grade at vocational high school of Bhinneka Karya Surakarta. The instruments to collect the data, there are observation method, documentation and test. The results of data collection were used for triangulation as a methods to validate the data. The data was carried out of using descriptive qualitative analysis. The result of research showed that is an improvement in students’ learning achievement. The students’ learning achievement also improved in each assesment: cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitude), and psychomotor (skill) learning achievement. The student’s cognitive learning achievement increased from 58.97% to 63.88% in 1st cycles and 86.11% in 2nd cycles of student’s who could achieve MPC (Minimum Passing Criterion). The student’s affective learning achievement increased from 48.71% to 72.22% in 1st cycles and 88.89% in 2nd cycles of students who could achieve MPC. The phsychomotor learning achievement of students’ increased from 56.41% to 61.11% in 1st cycles and 83.33% in 2nd cycles of students who could achive MPC. Thus, it could be concluded that the application of Think Pair and Share learning model in Engineering Drawing could improve learning achievement in terms of learning visual styles in Mechanical Engineering A, 10 th grade at vocational high school of Bhinneka Karya Surakarta improve the students’ learning achievement with the achievement of success indicator more than 80% out of all students whom having achieved MPC for all of learning achievement types.
