THE APPLICATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF TALKING STICK TYPE TO INCREASE ATTITUDE AND ACHIEVEMENT IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING SUBJECT CLASS X TPM 2 SMK PANCASILA SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017 Thesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Sebelas Maret University. July 2017. This study aims at determine whether the implementation of cooperative learning model talking stick can improve student achievement in the subjects of engineering mechanics of class X TPM 2 SMK Pancasila Surakarta. This study is a class room action research using two cycles, each cycle consist of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection of teaching and learning. The subjects were students of class X SMK Pancasila TPM 2 Surakarta totaling 30 students. This research data collection techniques using interviews, observation, documentation, and test. While data analysis is conducted by the analysis of the test, and analysis of the average value of students. This classroom action research conducted on the month of April 2017 to May 2017. The results showed that the implementation of learning model cooperativetype talking stick can improve student achievement in the subjects of Engineering Mechanics. it’s can be proved that in observation activities prasiklus percentage of the value attitudes of students by 20%, after the implementation of learning model cooperative type talking stick in cycle 1 increased to 50%, then cycled II increased to 80%. While student achievement is also an increase of the value of each test cycle. In the application method of lecture prasiklus average cognitive learning achievement of 20% then in the first cycle increased to 50% and in the second cycle increased to 80%. The conclusion from the study is the application of learning model cooperative type talking stick can improve student achievement of class X SMK Pancasila TPM 2 Surakarta.
