      Abstract

      Two phase flow experimental study was important to observed as consideration in application of piping system design which depend on two phase flow. Air-water flow regime was identified in this experiment. The purpose of this experiment is to know air- water flow regime which occurred in circular mini-channel with vertical upward flow and to know the flow configuration. The transparent channel with inner diameter 2,5 mm and 5 mm, 1200 mm length is used in this experiment. The flow regime is formed were bubble, slug, churn and annular. The new flow regime map is reformed in this experiment. The result of flow regime map has good related with Fukano and Kariyasaki (1993) flow regime map for 2,5 mm inner-diameter and Hanafizadeh’s (2011) flow regime map for 5 mm inner-diameter. The other flow configuration is like air actual velocity and void fraction was also observed. Analysis with drift-flux models is applied both configuration analysis. The value of correlation parameter C0 decreased from 1,240 to 1,103 when the channel diameter increased from 2,5 mm to 5 mm. The result of void fraction has very good correlation to void fraction models by Nicklin (1962) and Armand (1946).
