    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Lella Oktaviani Fajri. K3113037. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GROUP COUNSELING WITH ASSERTIVE TRAINING TECHNIQUE IN IMPROVING 〖11〗^TH GRADE STUDENT OF SMAN 1 KARTASURA SELF-DISCLOSURE. Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sebelas Maret University. June 2017. This research was intended to find out the effectiveness of group counseling with assertive training in improving 〖11〗^thgrade student of SMAN 1 Kartasura self-disclosure. This research was done in form of pre-experimental design with one group pretest-postest design, which means this was done to one group of student without any other group as comparison. The subjects of this research were the students of 〖11〗^th grade students of SMAN 1 Kartasura. Eight of fifty six students were chosen as the sample of the study by using purposive sampling technique. Group counseling with assertive training was given as the treatment to the subjects of the study in order to improve their self-disclosure. The treatment was done in three meeting. Data of this research were collected by using questionnaire, and then were analyzed by using Wilcoxon test with SPSS 20.0. Based on the data analysis, it was found that there was a different between pretest score and posttest score after the treatments were given. The result of data analysis showed 0.012 < 0.05 Significance, which means Hɑ was accepted. It can be concluded that assertive training was effective in improving 〖11〗^th grade students of SMAN 1 Kartasura self-disclosure. The research suggestion is that the parties involved in the research can develop self-disclosure skills with other techniques.
