    Abstract

    Juli. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL TYPE NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER TO INCREASE UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF INDONESIAN INDEPENDENT PROKLAMATION (In Grade V Students of SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 16 Surakarta Academic Year 2016/2017). Minithesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, June 2017. The purpose of this research is to improve the understanding of the concept of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence through the implementation of Cooperative Learning Model Numbered Heads Together In Grade V Students of SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 16 Surakarta academic year 2016/2017. This research from is classroom action research (CAR)which is carried out in two cycles. The subject of the research is the students of Grade V of SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 16 Surakarta consist of 36 students. The data source comes from teachers and students. The techniquesof collecting data used are observation, interview, test and documentation. Validity of data used is triangulation technique and source triangulation. Analysis of data used is an interactive analysis model that has four components of data collection, data reduction, data display, and withdrawal of conclusions. Data which gotten from before action to cycle II is improveness. At before action average value of students is 63,55 with percentage of mastery 25% of student reaching limit of KKM value equal to 75. In cycle I, students average value increased to 75,89 with percentage 55,56%. In cycle II, the average value increased to 92.05 with 100% percentage. Based on the results of the above research, it can be concluded that the model of learning Numbered Heads Together can improve the understanding of the concept of the Proclamation of Independence of Indonesia on the students of class V SD Negeri Mangkubumen Kidul No. 34. 16 Surakarta academic year 2016/2017.
