    Abstract

    ABSTRAK Elyawati. PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION DENGAN MEDIA KERTAS LIPAT DALAM PENINGKATAN PEMBELAJARAN PECAHAN DI KELAS IV SD NEGERI 1 KUWAYUHAN TAHUN AJARAN 2016/2017. Skripsi, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Mei 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan langkah-langkah penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dengan media kertas lipat dalam peningkatan pembelajaran pecahan di kelas IV SDN 1 Kuwayuhan Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017, (2) meningkatkan pembelajaran pecahan di kelas IV SDN 1 Kuwayuhan Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 melalui penerapan pendekatan RME dengan media kertas lipat, dan (3) mendeskripsikan kendala dan solusi penerapan pendekatan RME dengan media kertas lipat dalam peningkatan pembelajaran pecahan di kelas IV SDN 1 Kuwayuhan tahun ajaran 2016/ 2017. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas kolaboratif yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subjek penelitian ini siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Kuwayuhan Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu siswa, guru, observer, dan dokumen. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) langkah-langkah pembelajaran dalam penelitian ini adalah memahami masalah kontekstual, menjelaskan masalah kontekstual, menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual melalui diskusi kelompok, membandingkan dan mendiskusikan jawaban melalui diskusi kelas, dan menarik kesimpulan; (2) adanya peningkatan pembelajaran pecahan yaitu pada siklus I ketuntasan belajar siswa = 86,44%, siklus II = 89,83%, dan siklus III = 93,33%; (3) Kendala yang dihadapi adalah: (a) guru belum lancar saat mendemonstrasikan media, (b) guru kurang memperhatikan siswa yang ramai, (c) beberapa siswa pasif dalam berdiskusi, (d) siswa dengan kemampuan pemahaman yang cepat tidak sabar menunggu temannya, (e) siswa berebut untuk presentasi, dan (f) waktu diskusi melebihi batas. Adapun solusinya yaitu: (a) guru mempersiapkan diri mendemonstrasikan media, (b) guru memperingatkan siswa yang ramai (c) guru mendorong siswa untuk aktif, (d) guru meminta siswa menunggu temannya, (e) guru menunjuk kelompok yang tertib untuk persentasi, dan (f) guru memotivasi siswa untuk tepat waktu. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dengan media kertas lipat secara tepat dapat meningkatkan pembelajaran pecahan di kelas IV SDN 1 Kuwayuhan Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. THE USE OF REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION USING PAPER FOLDING AS MEDIA IN IMPROVING THE LESSON OF FRACTION FOR FOURTH GRADE OF SD NEGERI 1 KUWAYUHAN IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2016/2017. Thesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta, May 2017. The objectives of this research are: (1) ) to describe the steps on the use of realistic mathematics education using paper folding as media in improving the lesson of fraction for fourth grade of SD Negeri 1 kuwayuhan in the academic year of 2016/2017, (2) to improve the lesson of fraction for fourth grade of SD Negeri 1 kuwayuhan in the academic year of 2016/2017 through realistic mathematics education using paper folding as media, and (3) describe problems and solutions on the use of realistic mathematics education using paper folding as media in improving the lesson of fraction for fourth grade of SD Negeri 1 kuwayuhan in the academic year of 2016/2017 This research is a collaborative classroom action research (CAR) conducted in three cycles. Subjects of this research were 30 fourth grade students of SDN 1 Kuwayuhan in the academic year of 2016/2017. Sources of the data were students, teacher, observer, and documents. Techniques of collecting data were non-test (observation and interview) and test. Validity of data in this research was analyzed using triangulation of sources and triangulation of technique.Data were analyzed using quantitative analysis including data reduction, data presenting, and drawing conclusion. The results of this research show that:(1) the steps on the use of RME using paper folding as media, namely (a) understanding contextual problem,(b) explaining contextual problem,(c) solving contextual problem through group discussion,(d) comparing and discussing the result through group discussion, and (e) drawing conclusion; (2) There is improvement of the lesson of fraction. It was proven by the students completeness in cycle I 86,44%, cycle II 89,83%, and cycle III 93,33%;(3) Problems encountered are: (a) teacher was not fluently capable in demonstrating the media, (b) teacher paid less attention on noisy students, (c) some students were being passive during discussion, (d) fast-understanding students cannot wait for their fellow classmates during discussion, (e) students snatched away to present, and (f) the discussion session exceeded the time limit. Solutions given are:(a) teacher prepares her/himself to use the media, (b) teacher warns noisy students,(c)teacher encourages students to be more active, (d) teacher asks students to wait for their classmates, (e) teacher points out group to present, and (f) teacher motivates students to be more on time, The conclusion of this research is the use of realistic mathematics education using paper folding as media can improve the lesson of fraction for fourth grade of SD Negeri 1 kuwayuhan in the academic year of 2016/2017.
