    Abstract

ABSTRACT Analysis of Effect of Stock Exchange in ASEAN-4 on the Indonesian Capital Market Development (Period January 2011 - December 2015) RENDI MEGAN PRADITYA F0113077 This study examines the effect of short-term and long-term between Straits Times Index (STI), the index of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE), the index of Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the index of Philippines Stock Exchange (PSE) to the Composite Index (ICI). The data sample used inthis study are montly time series data from period January 2011 to December2015. A method of analysis in this study are Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The Results of the research by using analysis tools on the above are: (i) In the short-term there is no significant relationship between each variable of ASEAN-4 Index to JCI. This implies that in the short-term each independent variable can not be used to predict the movement of the JCI Index. (ii) In the long-term there is a positive and significant relationship between the STI Index to the JCI. This implies that in the long-term STI index variable is a good indicator to predict the movement of JCI Index. But the KLSE index, SET index and PSE index can be used to predict the movement of the JCI Index in the long-term. Keywords: Capital Market, Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), Vector Error Correction Model (VECM)
