    Abstract

THE EFFECT OF USING MONTESSORI METHOD ON THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPT OF NUMBER OF STUDENTS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT AT SLB B YRTRW KINDERGARTEN SURAKARTA IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2016/2017. Skripsi, Surakarta : Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University, March 2016 This study aims to determine the effect of using Montessori method on the ability to understand the concept of number of students with hearing impairment at SLB B YRTRW kindergarten Surakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017. This research used an experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population of this research were all 10 children with hearing impairment of Kindergarten. The entire population is also used as a research sample because of the limited number of population. The data collection techniques implemented was an objective test is in the form of matching test. The instrument test was measured by content validity and Kuder Richardson 21 technique reliability. The data is analyzed by using non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with SPSS 20. The result showed that the average value of student increased as compared with pretest posttest is 45 into 90. Non -parametric analysis result obtained value of Z callulate =-2,831 with P<0,005. The conclusion is that there was an effect using Montessori method to increase the ability to understand the concept numbers of student with hearing impairment at SLB B YRTRW Kindergarten Surakarta in the academic year of 2016/2017.
