    Abstract

    THE EFFECT OF CARD SORT METHOD IN SCIENCE LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT FOR CHILDREN WITH EMOTIONAL AND BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS ABSTRACT Dwi Fitriyati, Hermawan, Sugini Special Need Education, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University. e-mail: dwifitriyati14@gmail.com The purpose of this research is to know the effect of Card Sort method in improving the science learning achievement for children with emotional and behavioral disorders of the seventh grade students of SLB E Bhina Putera Surakarta year 2016/2017. The methodology used in this research is Quantitative Experiment. The design used in this research is one group pre-test post-test design, where a group of subjects was given a specific treatment in certain time. The population of this research is the seventh grade students with emotional and behavioral disorders in SLB E Bhina Putera Surakarta year 2016/2017. The class consists of 5 students. The technique of data collection used in this researchis multiple choice tests. The technique of data analysis used in this research is nonparametric data which is a test by using Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with SPSS 22. The result of this research is students’ test score have increased after given the treatment. It was shown from their pre-test and post-test score. In the pre-test before the treatment, students’ average score was 51.43 but after the treatment has been applied, their post-test average score was 75.71. It has increased significantly. Significant or Z score statistic test that is used SPSS data program version 22 is 0.042 and this result is still under 0.05. It means that probability of Z score from wilcoxon signed rank test is lower than probability of errors 5% (α = 0.05) and the result of quantitative analysis shows that pre-test average score is 51.43 and post-test is 75.71. So it can be concluded that the Card Sort method has a good effect in improving the science learning achievement of children with emotional and behavioral disorders of the seventh grade students of SLB E Bhina Putera Surakarta year 2016/2017.
