Abstract
This thesis addresses a two-echelon single-vendor multi-buyer production inventory model for food products considering raw material quality loss and finished product perceived value loss. A mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) mathematical model is developed to represent the problem while a biased-random key genetic algorithm (BRKGA) hybridized with local procedures is designed to optimize the model. The numerical tests showthat the algorithm is effective and efficient for solving the established model. It is further demonstrated that the proposed model is robust and leads to animproved joint profit of the observed system. A case study conducted in a food industry confirms that the implementation of the proposed approach could potentially increase the total profit of the supply chain systemby approximately 7%.
