    Abstract

One of the causes of turnover intention is dissatisfaction to the organization influenced by group cohesiveness and sense of belonging. Group cohesiveness and sense of belonging in the student regiment are better known as corps spirit and loyalty. Although these two things are important aspects of organizational life in the students regiment, not all the members can fully implement it in daily life so as to bring in members’ turnover intention. This study aims to determine the correlation of group cohesiveness and sense of belonging with turnover intention on the active members of the student regiment. These samples included 82 respondents from four random university obtained by using cluster random sampling in the scope of “Skomen Mahadipa Sub-B Surakarta”. The data were collected using turnover intention scale, group cohesiveness scale and sense of belonging scale. The data were analyzed by using linear regression method. The results showed a significant association between group cohesiveness and sense of belonging with turnover intention, F test> F table (56 041> 3.112), the significance value 0.000 <0.05, R = 0.766, R square = 0.587 or 58.7%. This suggests that group cohesiveness and sense of belonging strong influence on turnover intention if both are present simultaneously. Partially, there was significantly negative correlation between group cohesiveness and turnover intention, (r xy = -0.322> 0.05), as well as the correlation between the sense of belonging with turnover intention (r xy = -0.347> 0.05). Keywords: turnover intention, group cohesiveness, sense of belonging, student regiment.
