    Abstract

    This study aimed to analyze the influence of macroeconomic factors were measured by the growth of inflation and GDP growth, the bank characteristics as measured by CAR, LDR or FDR, NPL or NPF, ROA and SIZE and corporate governance as measured by the size of the Board of Directors, the size of the Board of Commissioners, the proportion of independent commissioners and the sharia supervisory size of the banking profitability is measured by ROA. The data used in this study is a commercial banks and Islamic banks registered in Bank Indonesia and Otoritas Jasa Keuangan 2011-2015. The sampling method used is purposive sampling. The sample in this study is 58 commercial banks and 11 Islamic banks. Data analysis techniques used in this research is quantitative descriptive and multiple linear analysis was previously tested with classical assumption test including normality test, heteroscedasticity test, test and test multicolinearity autocorrelation. After conducting a series of tests in this study, produced the conclusion that the growth of inflation and GDP growth did not show a significant effect on ROA. The variable CAR, LDR arau FDR, NPL or NPF, ROA, the proportion of independent commissioners and Sharia Supervisory Board size significant negative effect on ROA. While the SIZE variable, size of the Board of Directors and Board Size Commissioner significant positive effect on ROA. The predictive ability of the 10 variables for conventional commercial banks was 58.1% and the predictive capacity of 11 variables for Islamic banks was 9.9%, while the rest influenced by other factors not included in the research model.
