    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Yeremia Bagus Setya Budi. C0112063. 2016. Code-Switching and Code-Mixing in Javanese Sermon in Ampel Java Christian Church, Boyolali. Undergraduate Thesis, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. This research examines the problems: (1) What kind of code-switching and code-mixing in the sermons in Javanese in Ampel Java Christian Church? (2) How does the functions of code-switching and code-mixing in the sermon in Javanese in the Ampel Java Christian Church? (3) What the factors causes code-switching and code-mixing in a sermon in the Javanese in the Ampel Java Christian Church? This type of the research was qualitative descriptive. The data was verbal data. With transcribing the recording sermon in Javanese by preacher who served in GKJ Ampel contained code-switching and code-mixing into written form. The source of this research comes atape of the sermon in Javanese by preacher who served in GKJ Ampel that recorded in the form of voice and video. The sample in this study is partly speech in Javanese language sermon at GKJ Ampel thats containing code switching and code-mixing. The data collection of this study using technique of taping, SBLC, record, and record. Methods of the data analysis using distributional and unified method. The results of this study were (1) form of code-switching: code-switching form Indonesian to Javanese and code-switching form Javanese to Indonesian. Form of code-mixing:(a) code-mixing with the insertion of elements of intangible word, (b) code-mixing with the insertion of elements that intangible phrase, (c) code-mixing with the insertion of elements of intangible baster, (d) code-mixing with the insertion of elements of intangible looping said, (e) interfere with the insertion of code elements that intangible expressions or idioms, and (f) interfere with the insertion of code elements of intangible clause. (2) The transfer function code: (a) more argumentative, (b) more prestige, (c) more communicative, (d) gives respect, (e) reinforce the conversation, and (f) a statement to you. Code-mixing functions, namely: (a) the smooth and simplify the intent utterances, (b) the effectiveness of the language, (c) the message is easy to understand, and (d) clarify the intent of speech. (3) Factors that lead over the code, namely: (a) the speaker, (b) the hearer, (c) the subject, (d) to generate a sense of humor, and (e) to simply prestigious. Factors that cause interference code, namely: (a) the attitude of speakers of the language, (b) based on ignorance speakers on language rules, (c) bilingualism, (d) the lackness of vocabulary speaker, and (e) intentional.
