    Abstract

Relationship Between Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) With Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) Expression Related Endometrial Receptivity Hubungan antara Sindrom Ovarium Polikistik (SOPK) dengan Ekspresi Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) terkait reseptivitas endometrium Novia Romnalia Borneo Putri, Tedjo Danudjo Oepomo, Uki Retno Budihastuti Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Faculty of Medicine Sebelas Maret University/ Dr. Moewardi General Hospital Surakarta Abstract Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) have a major contribution as a cause of infertility in reproductive age. One of the causes infertility in PCOS is a decreased endometrial receptivity make disturbed embryo implantation. Endometrial receptivity disorders characterized by increased of MMP-9 expression and is one of the main terms and conditions for implantation. The aim of research to analyze the relationship between PCOS with MMP-9 expression related to endometrial receptivity Methods: This was an observational analytic study with case-control approach. By consecutive sampling technique to determine the study subjects were 30 women PCOS as case group and 30 normal women as controls. Endometrial biopsy was performed in all study subjects continued examination of MMP-9 expression by immunohistochemical methods Results: Occupation, level of education, family history of PCOS, age of menarche and BMI are significant differences between PCOS and control groups with p <0.05 except age. Logistic regression with PCOS are at risk as much as 34.5 times increased MMP-9 expression compared to controls by considering all external variables that exist (p=0.004 and 95% CI=11877-57158) Conclusion: There is a very strong association between PCOS expression of MMP-9 related to endometrial receptivity after considering all of the variables that exist Keywords: MMP-9, Endometrial Receptivity, PCOS
