    ABSTRACT Salak is one of tropical native fruit of Indonesia. East Java and Bali are area that have wide variety of cultivar salak. This is enable for the emergence of new cultivars, so that it is required information regarding to genetic relationship of Java and Bali salak as a reference in plant selection of salak. This study provides information on morphological character of salak in East Java and Bali. This research was conducted in July 2015 until March 2016 which is located at greenhouse C Faculty of Agriculture Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta, by planting eleven cultivars of Salak from East Java and Bali Provinces. Kediri, Malang, Pasuruan, Bojonegoro, Banyuwangi ,Bangkalan, Jombang in East Java province and Karangasem district in Bali. This research used qualitative descriptive method items, by observing morphological characters of Salak. Grouping of accessions used Unweighted Pair Group Method using arithmetic Average (UPGMA) with Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate programs System (NTSYS). The results Showed eleven cultivars are Salak Bali and East Java have close relationship. At the limit coefficient is 0,86 or 86%, the samples of salak cultivars East Java and Bali are classified into 4 groups. Group A consists of Wates, Kendal Payak, Kresikan, Tembalang, and Suwaru. Group B consists of Wedi, Rejoagung, and Bangkalan,Group C consists of GulaPasir, and Kelapa.Group D only consist of Sibetan.
