Abstract
Aerodynamics improvements in a vehicle can be done by adding or reducing a part of the vehicle. The rear diffuser and boat tail is an important aerodynamics add-on devices. The parameter was investigated just the influence of the diffuser angle and boat tail angle. A model of sedan car was analysis at the speed of 100 km/h to get the aerodynamics drag coefficient. The analysis has been carried out by using ANSYS Fluent software. The result showed that the addition of diffuser at the sedan model was produced the best model at an angle of 6° with the reduction of drag coefficient reached 9,5%. The additional boat tail at the model with an angle diffuser of 6° was produced the best model at the boat tail angle of 5° with the reduction of drag coefficient was 4%. The drag coefficient total reduction of the best models reached 13,21% if it was compared with the baseline model. In testing the best models in the speed range of 25 km/h-125 km/h was found that the increase of speed then the value of the drag coefficient improved and reached the speed of 100km/h, then there was a little reduction at speed of 125 km/h.
