    Abstract

    The research aims to know about the comparison of (1) Student learning achievements between Numbered Heads Together (NHT) method at cooperative learning model with Discovery Learning method in domain cognitive, affective, and psychomotor; and, (2) The activity of student learning between Numbered Heads Together (NHT) method at cooperative learning model with Discovery Learning method. The population of this research is all students of X Civil Engineering in SMK N 5 Surakarta. Sample selected was a class X TS A and X TS C. This research using quantitative comparison research, with data collection technique using posttest only control design. Data collection carried out to technique observation and technique test. Observation used in domain affective, domain psychomotor and activity learning of students. Test used for a data collection in domain cognitive. Analysis data using t test two sample not correlate, by testing two parties and standard significantly is 0.05. The research showed that; (1) There is a difference significant learning achievements between NHT method and Discovery Learning method that is tcount = 2,333 > ttabel = 1,9806 in domain cognitive , tcount = 2,060 > ttabel = 1,9806 in domain affective, and tcount = 2,047 > ttabel = 1,9806 in domain psychomotor. Students who are taught through NHT method has a higher value in all three domain compared with a Discovery Learning method; and, (2) There was a gap in learning activities in welfare between method of NHT and Discovery Learning method with tcount = 2,757 > ttabel = 1,980. Students who are taught through NHT method has a higher activity learning compared with a Discovery Learning method.
