    Abstract

    Abstract There are many schools in Indonesia that is called Academy, where students are called cadets. Academy School focuses on education with high discipline for cadets. There are lots of rules that must be obeyed by cadets. Similarly, with the Police Academy (AKPOL) Semarang. cadets of AKPOL come from various regions in Indonesia. Then, each region will form a Corps or a smaller group again, the Corps area. In a local group usually has a high cohesiveness. One of local group in AKPOL is Joglo corps. According to Irving L. Janis, a group that has a high cohesiveness will cause to groupthink. Based on that theory, researcher made this qualitative research, with the purpose of finding out about the phenomenon of groupthink in Joglo Corps. The researcher uses a case study method to analyze with indepth interview, because by doing an interview the primer data can be obtained. The findings and conclusions of this research is high cohesiveness in Joglo Corps lead the group experiencing symptoms of groupthink in the form of high loyalty, superiority of group, out-group stereotypes, and there is self-censorship in decision-making of Joglo Corps.
