    Abstract

    The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of maternal reflective methods application to increase reading comprehension in children with hearing impairment in SLB class IV-B YRTRW Surakarta academic year 2016/2017. This study used the pre-experimental research method with one group pretest-posttest design. This study used 8 students with hearing impairment in class IV-B SLB YRTRW Surakarta on academic year 2016/2017 as sample. Data were collected through objective completion test. Data analysis used quantitative analysis with non-parametric techniques in form rankings marked analysis test (Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test) which used SPSS 23 application. The result found that reading comprehension test scores of children with hearing impairment SLB class IV-B YRTRW Surakarta on the academic year 2016/2017 increased. Pretest mean was 56.25. It increased to 83,13 after the treatment was given. In Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test with SPSS version 23 application indicated the value Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.011 which is under significant level (α) were determined to be 0.05 (5%). In conclusion, the application of maternal reflective method influenced in increasing reading comprehension skill of children with hearing impairment in SLB class IV-B YRTRW Surakarta on academic year 2016/2017.
