THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER, GROUP INVESTIGATION, AND COMMUNICATIVE METHOD TOWARD THE RESULT OF LEARNING GEOGRAPHY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES XI STUDENTS AT SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 2 BOYOLALI IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016 (Basic Competencies Analyzing Environmental Preservation in Relation to Sustainable Development). Thesis. Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University. January 2017. The research aims to know: (1) a significant difference the result of learning Geography between Numbered Heads Together, Group Investigation and Communicative method on basic competence "Analyzing Environmental Protection in Relation to Sustainable Development" learners of social sciences XI Senior High School 2 Boyolali, (2)a significant difference the result of learning Geography between Numbered Heads Together with Communicative method, (3) a significant difference the result of learning Geography between Group Investigation with Communicative, (4) a significant difference the result of learning Geography between Numbered Heads Together with Group Investigation. This study uses a quasi-experimental research design research "Posttest Only Control Group Design". The study population was all students of class XI IPS SMAN 2 Boyolali in the academic year 2015/2016. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling. The sample selected is a class XI IPS 1, XI IPS 2, and XI IPS 3. Data collection techniques using critical thinking skills test techniques in the form of essay questions. Data analysis technique used was Varian Analysis One Way (One Way Anova) and post-test anava (Scheffe’ method) with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that: (1) There are a significant difference the result of learning between Numbered Heads Together, Group Investigation and Communicative method with a mean score of 94.65; 91.51; 86.29, thus the Numbered Heads Together and Group Investigation method is more effective than Communicative method. (2) There are a significant difference the result of learning between Numbered Heads Together and Communicative method with a mean score of 94.65; 86.29, thus the Numbered Heads Together method is more effective than Communicative method. (3) There are a significant difference the result of learning between Group Investigation and Communicative method with a mean score of 91.51; 86.29, thus the Group Investigation method is more effective than Communicative method. (4) There are a significant difference the result of learning between Numbered Heads Together and Group Investigation method with a mean score of 94.65; 91.51, thus the Numbered Heads Together method is more effective than Group Investigation method.
