    Abstract

    The research aimed to know whether using TAI with modificated discovery method can provide the learning achievement higher than using NHT with modificated discovery method on sub topic electrolyte and non electrolyte solutions. The research used experiment method with The Static Group Pretest Postest Design where the first experiment class that used in the research were the class learning by using TAI with modificated discovery method and the second experiment class learning by using NHT with modificated discovery method . The population were the student of class X Regular of SMA N 4 Surakarta in 2009/2010. The sample were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The main data of this research was achievement students learning outcome from cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspect. The technique of analizing data were used t-test right side. The result of the research shown that achievement of student learning by using TAI with discovery method higher than achievement of student learning by using NHT with modificated discovery method. It could be realized that cognitive, affective and psychomotor means on TAI class higher than NHT class. The cognitive means of TAI = 31,543 > NHT = 27,543; the affective means of TAI = 106,486 > NHT = 102,257; and the psychomotor means of TAI = 20,543 > NHT = 19,429. The higher achievement learning by using TAI method than NHT method could be realized that the result of counting by using t-test right side. The result of t-test right side for cognitive learning achievement were aequired tcount= 2,232 > ttable= 1,67, for affective of learning achievement were aequired tcount= 1,931 > ttable= 1,67 and also the psychomotor of learning achievement were aequired tcount= 2,486 it was higher than ttable= 1,67.
