    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Aniks Ambarwati. K2312007. IMPROVING CREATIVE THINKING ABILITY THROUGH APPLICATION LEARNING MODEL OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PjBL) FOR STUDENTS IN CLASS XI IPA 9 SMA NEGERI 1 KARANGANYAR ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016. Thesis, Surakarta : Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, December 2016. Application of project based learning (PjBL) to improve student’s creative thinking ability in class XI IPA 9 of SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar is aims of this research. This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) with Kemmis & Mc. Taggart model, that has been done in two cycles. Each cycle was began with preparation stage and continued with implementation stage (planning, action, observation, and reflection). A total of 32 students of XI IPA 9 class in SMA Negeri 1 Karanganyar academic year 2015/2016 were become subject of this research. The data obtained from observation, interview, review of document, and test ware analyzed on descriptive qualitative scale. As a result, all aspect of creative thinking ability (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration) in pre-cycle has not reached the targets set, and categorized as very low. The lowest result in originality aspect with a precentage of 13.36%. In the first cycle all aspect increased, expect for flexibility aspect. The highest increase occurred in originality aspect with the precentage increase in 32.76%. And in the second cycle, all aspect have been achieved the target of 60% (fluency-65.52%, flexibility-60.63%, originality-76.29%, and elaboration-60.63%).
