    Abstract

    Paddy was one of the most important food crop in the world. One of the obstacles in efforting to increase paddy production was blast. The use of resistant varieties supported by balanced fertilization can suppress the development of blast. Potassium fertilization caused phenols accumulation. The purpose of this research was to determine the dose of potassium fertilizer that could increase the production of paddy field and the resistance to leaf blast. The research was conducted at Sambirejo village, Tlogowungu, Pati. This research used a randomized completely block design by a factor of treatment (dose of potassium fertilizer) consisted of 5 levels (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 kgha-1). The data were analyzed using F test and followed with DMRT at 5%. The results showed that KCl fertilizer at 150-200 kgha-1 dose can suppress leaf blast infection and increase the number of productive tillers and plant dry weight of paddy field.
