Abstract
Istiqomah Annisaa. C1012017. 2016. The Translation Strategy and The Translation Quality in The Constitution Translation Text of Medina. Undergraduate Thesis: Arabic Department Faculty of Culture Science Sebelas Maret University. This research is intended to (1) describe any strategies that were used by a translator to translate the constitution text of Medina and (2) describe the translation qualities of the constitution translation text of Medina. This research using qualitative methods that presented descriptively. The techniques of collecting data using read and take a note, questionaires, and in depth interviewing with respondents. Meanwhile, this research using three steps to analysis the data, there are data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification of data. The result of this research can be concluded that the translator has been using 11 strategies of translation to translate the constitution text of Medina. The translator used semantic strategies of translation more often than structural strategies of translation. But the qualities of constitution translation text of Medina still less accurate, less acceptability, and medium readability. On the other hand, the best translation qualities can be raised by some strategies of translation that were selected by the translator espescially to translate this constitution text of Medina.
